This meeting will be held virtually. Monique”s talk focuses on building the confidence to photograph on the streets for both beginners and experienced photographers. Her 75 minute talk shows over 60 photographs from her start as a street photographer in 2016 to present. As part of the presentation several "before and after images" will demonstrate how she crops and edits her work. Many tips and tricks will be discussed with the audience that she hopes will inspire people to go out and shoot Street. What you will gain from this presentation: Understanding the 3 P's; Practice, Perseverance and Passion How to overcome fears of photographing people Create themes to facilitate photographing Use post production to enhance images Learn how to approach people for street portraits Monique began her career as a photojournalist at the Moose Jaw Times-Herald in 1990 then went onto freelance at the Sudbury Star. In 1994 she was awarded the Runner Up Picture of the Year for the Canadian Press and Picture of the Year for Thomson Newspaper Chain for her news photo of a firefighter reviving a boy in Sudbury. Her work has been exhibited locally and at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, France in 2018. She enjoys roaming the streets of Hamilton, ON where she lives as well as traveling and making images abroad. Monique is a member of the Latow Photographers Guild in Burlington and has been awarded the Masters level through Guild Evaluations.
