We are excited to announce the upcoming Virtual presentation of our 14th Annual Capture Oakville Photography Competition, Exhibition and recognition of our winners on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 7pm via Webex.

Due to the many restrictions brought on by the global pandemic, 2020 has been a year of disruptions, lockdowns, transitions, and many new normals.  We want to thank you for your contributions over these past difficult months, and especially for your continuous support of the Oakville Camera Club!

We are aware that many of you as photographers have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic but, we have also seen some impressive determination and innovation in your response to our circumstances.

As the New Year approaches, we are excited to announce an exclusive virtual photographic showing of the 2020 Exhibition and winning images.  This event is all about fun, learning, and sharing our great work!

The 2020 Exhibition features 83 of the finest images selected by our independent panel of photography professionals, trained and accredited under the Canadian Association of Photographic Arts (CAPA).

The Virtual Exhibition is designed to tie together and showcase our many Club educational activities, workshops, explorations, and photographic outings, activities that reinforce and enhance our learning experiences, and create an even greater awareness and promotion of the photographic arts in our community.

We look forward to you joining us, along with our Members, in helping make this year’s Exhibition another great success!  Please plan to join us on Friday, January 8th, 2021 for a virtual welcome reception, as we share in the work of our photographers, and present the award winning images from our 2020 Photography Competition.

The Virtual Exhibition is a free event, so please invite your friends and family to an evening of photographic enjoyment right from the comfort of your own home.  The welcome and Virtual Exhibition will begin at 7:00 PM sharp.

We will be presenting via our WebEx meeting system and the link to the event will be emailed to all members as well as all Capture 2020 Entrants before the event.

If you are a guest and would like to participate in this event, please email info@oakvillecameraclub.com to be added to our mailing list for the webex link.

The annual Capture Oakville event, is seen as Oakville Camera Club’s contribution to our community’s quality of life by enhancing the enjoyment, appreciation and public profile of the photographic arts.

The Exhibition provides us with a great opportunity to share some of our members’ exceptional photography work, and to recognize some of the up-and-coming talent in our community.

The Oakville Camera Club and Capture Oakville event receives financial support from the Town of Oakville through the Cultural Grants program.  In addition, we are so grateful to our many sponsors for their continued support, including The Mark Kirton Team REMAX Aboutowne, Burlington Camera, Amplis Vanguard, and South Oakville Hearing & Audiology Clinic.

Best Wishes this Holiday Season, be Well and Stay Safe!

CANCELLED - Capture Oakville 2020 Photo Exhibition & Awards Gala

As we now all face ever challenging times within our new normals of social and physical distancing, and self-isolation due to COVID-19 coronavirus, it is with sincere regret that we must inform you of our Capture Oakville Planning Committee's decision to cancel the 14th Edition of Capture Oakville Photography Competition, originally scheduled on Friday, April 24, 2020.

We realize that many of our Member photographers have gone to much time and expense to enter and participate in our 14th Competition.  While nothing has been confirmed, the Committee is currently discussing a number of options for hosting a scaled-down version of our event at a later date in 2020.

We hope you will join us on at a date to be determined as we announce the winners of our 2020 Capture Oakville Competition.

I trust that you understand and support the above decisions.  If you have any questions, please feel free to correspond with me directly.

Many thanks for your ongoing support of our Committee, and our Capture Oakville Event.

    Be Safe; Cheers, Bernie
