We're very pleased to welcome Navy Nhum to present on Portrait Photography

In her words:

About

Not everyone gets my name right on the first attempt but it always makes me smile watching people try. Just in case you were wondering, it’s pronounced Na-vee Newm :)

My goals are simple, capture those real moments, the raw energy and most importantly, the story. To me, these are what make an image mean something and preserve more than just a moment in time. I’m not going to tell you how much I love photography or show a picture of me posing and smiling with a camera because well, no one wants to see another one of those. All I’ll say is that I love travelling, using the right side of my brain, and creativity is what keeps me sane. I also love the Rubik’s cube and really wouldn’t mind spending an afternoon just hanging out by the ocean solving it.

Join us on Sunday, March 18th from 9am to 12pm to learn how to take great Studio Portraits using the 3 classic studio lighting styles: high key, clam shell and rembrandt.

You will learn hands on how to setup and adjust studio lights, how to meter the light for the 3 studio portrait lighting setups as well as how to communicate with the model to get the image you are looking for.

You should come prepared to this class with your fully manual DSLR with a flash hot shoe (for wireless triggering of the studio lights) and we would suggest a lens that is between a 50mm to 100mm focal length.

Note that a basic understanding of ISO, aperture and shutter speed will be a benefit prior to attending this workshop.

Class size is limited to 15 so be sure to sign up early!

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR SPOT IS NOT CONFIRMED UNTIL WE RECEIVE YOUR PAYMENT FOR

THE WORKSHOP.

Cost for member is $30, cost for non-members is $35
