Our
Events

PROGRAMS & EVENTS.

As an OCC member, you will get access to a number of club sponsored programs and events.  This includes Meetings, Outings, Exploration Sessions, and Show Share and Learn critique nights. As a paid member you don't need to do anything other than show up for the events and meetings you're interested in. You may choose to RSVP for each event. This allows you to add events to your personal calendar, get extra reminders, and manage your events in your personal profile

Speaker Series

What better way to spend a Monday night.  The Oakville Camera club brings in guest speakers who will share pictures of their many adventures around the world.  Want to get tips of photography techniques, info of the best camera gear or the best places to visit to take pictures ?  The OCC Meeting calendar is filled with events that are suited to many skill levels and photographic pursuits.

Outings

New to photography or trying to hone your skills?  Attend one of our outings.  At the outing, you will get a chance to shoot amongst other club members.  The atmosphere is always supportive and welcoming of those who want to try something new or expand their skill set.  There is no better way of improving your photography skills than with live support in the field from other OCC club members.

Explorations

We sometimes need inspiration in order to go out and take pictures.  Led by Robin King, the Explorations Series assigns a category/theme within which photographers should experiment.  This encourages the photographer to try new themes/ideas and solutions and try novel techniques.  Images submitted to the exploration are reviewed in depth in a small group setting where constructive feedback can help the photographer improve the image.

Share & Learn

The best way to get feedback on your photography is to get constructive feedback from other photographers.  In this series, we review images as a group during a Monday night meeting.  Audience members will provide constructive criticism of the image submitted.  Two to three category themes are part of every Share and Learn session.
