Capture Oakville

Overview

The Capture Oakville Photography Competition is the Club’s annual competition, which is open to OCC Members and the broader community in Ontario.  This flagship event was first hosted as a Print Exhibition in 2007.

OCC is unique as it is the only formal cub in Oakville promoting the photographic arts within our community. Photography today is more popular than ever, and more accessible to everyone.  From film to an Android phone to an iPhone to a point-and-shoot, to a full DSLR, we welcome everyone with any type of camera.  OCC provides a forum for amateur and enthusiast photographers to develop their artistic skills and creativity and a means to measure their skills and progress through competitions.

This competition is open to everyone in the community, and the Gala Awards event draws a huge crowd from the arts community including politicians and other community leaders.

The Photography Competition features up to six-(6) categories, each with specific subject matter and criteria to challenge and inspire the artistic and technical capabilities of the photographers entering the competition.

Capture Oakville is a major juried photo competition using judges qualified under the Canadian Association of Photographic Arts (CAPA).

Exhibition and Gala

The Capture Oakville event culminates with an annual Gala evening, Exhibition, and Awards

ceremony.  We display the Exhibition at the Main Gallery of Queen Elizabeth Park Cultural and Community Centre, for several weeks following the premier of the Exhibition.

The 2024 gala will be held on May 24th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

The  Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Culture Centre is located in Oakville at 2302 Bridge Road.

This competition is open to all residents of Ontario, and the gala and awards event draws a huge crowd from the arts community including politicians and other community leaders.
