Macro Photography with Evan Van Zeumeren

Evan Van Zeumeren is a self-taught macro photographer based near Georgetown, Ontario with a love for insects. He’s dedicated the last four years perfecting his craft and using his knowledge of insects and photography to promote how much we need these creatures for our world to thrive. To show that they aren’t pests, but a beautiful, crucial part in the circle of life. With subjects this small, this is no easy task. 

In his presentation Evan will showcase the insect he’s found over the years, whilst teaching all the tips and tricks of macro photography he’s learned along his journey into the world beneath our feet. He will do a live demonstration and photograph a specimen to show how to use the equipment (camera, lens, ash), the technique (photo stacking) and the software to achieve extreme close-ups and details for such minute subjects.
